From the early years to now:

Stars & Stripes Kids Activity Center began as Stars & Stripes Gymnastics Academy. The first facility opened in September 2002 with nearly 500 students in a 5,000 square foot facility offering only recreational gymnastics classes. Within the first year, due to rapid growth in customers, the gym doubled their square footage along with doubling the cliental. In 2005 Stars & Stripes added competitive teams to their offerings. A year later Stars & Stripes opened another facility which shared equal success. They also opened with 500 students further proving that this model is successful for duplication. To continue focusing on growth and business strategies of the primary location the second facility was later sold and continues to operate under a different name.

In 2007 the owners bought a parcel of land to build a new 15,000 square foot facility with the potential to provide more activities including a summer camp program. Just three years later, in 2010, they introduced Camp Kids based on the needs of the community. This program allowed the company to dramatically increase revenue during the summer months.

Two more programs were introduced in 2012; Karate was offered along with the addition of a dance program the following fall. In 2013 an educational fitness-based school for children between the ages of three and five years old was implemented as well as a music program featuring piano lessons. With all of the additional programs, another building expansion was necessary. In the early fall of 2014 the 11,000 square foot addition was complete which provided exclusive areas for each activity along with expanding viewing, seating, parking, bathrooms, changing rooms, cubbies and comfort.

Over the course of the next year or so, with the newly expanded space, each program had the opportunity to grow exponentially. Stars & Stripes continues to offer classes 7 days per week.

In 2015 the team recognized that they had successfully developed a profitable business model that had the detailed systems, processes and unique children's program curriculum ready for expansion. They wanted to offer this same positive experience in other markets. While a number of expansion methods were considered, franchising was the one that made the most sense. Franchising allows Stars & Stripes to ensure that their commitment of providing a very unique, positive and rewarding experience for kids and their families, as stated in the company’s mission statement, will remain the guiding principle for all those who join the franchise.

For more than a year, the team has been working diligently to develop the proper franchise system and complete all the necessary steps to be able to offer franchises. Starting mid 2017 Stars & Stripes will begin to approve franchise locations in select markets. They are excited to grow together!
